David Ruiz is a Managing Director of ACORE CAPITAL working out of the San Francisco firm’s San Francisco office. David Ruiz has over 20 years of expertise in the commercial mortgage industry in the aspects of commercial lending operations, servicing and asset management.
Recently, David was Senior Vice President of business development and client services at Backshop, a software company providing end to end commercial CRE solution to some of the largest commercial lending organizations in the industry; Bank of America, US Bank, Starwood Capital, PCCP, Genworth Financial, One West Bank and many others. His projects involved working with subject matter experts in different credit environments implementing automated software solution functionality and processes that were key to maximizing efficiency and effectiveness. David’s expertise, background and previous relationships allowed him to play a key role in the sales and business development efforts at the firm led some of Backshop’s key new clients; MetLife, PCCP, Opus Bank, National Corporative Bank and others.
Previously at Countrywide’s Commercial Real Estate Finance division, he was in charge of establishing key infrastructure, systems and operational processes for the origination operation, 3rd party fund, and an asset management and servicing division where the company grew to originated/securitized $16B+ of commercial mortgage loans. Prior, David was the 4th employee hired as CFO and Treasurer to start-up a Commercial Mortgage Loan servicing unit for Nomura Asset Capital Group in 1998 playing key leadership roles in its early stages. David began his commercial mortgage career in the early 1990’s with Bank of America’s Trustee group and later, its Commercial Servicing group, managing investor reporting for RTC, FNMA and other securitizations and accounting.
David is a California CPA and received his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of California, Berkeley, with an emphasis on Accounting and Finance.
