Analyst or Associate

Summary

ACORE CAPITAL, a leading commercial real estate credit manager, is seeking an Analyst or Associate to join its Capital Markets team. The role will focus on the quantitative and analytical aspects of managing ACORE’s levered real estate credit vehicles, including liquidity forecasting and management, investment selection, investment financing, and the development and maintenance of sophisticated financial models. The Analyst or Associate will work closely with Originations, Underwriting, Capital Raising, Accounting, Asset Management, and external financing counterparties. The individual will gain exposure to a broad range of large, opportunistic, institutional commercial real estate loans across multiple property types throughout the United States. This is an in-office role based in San Francisco or Los Angeles and reports to the Managing Director of Capital Markets.

Responsibilities:

• Support the execution of financing transactions for levered real estate credit vehicle investments, including coordinating trade confirmations, managing data rooms and diligence requests, tracking transaction timelines and closing deliverables, and communicating with financing counterparties.
• Prepare, review, and revise asset summary reports, loan models, financing materials, and other Capital Markets information used in lender, investor, and external marketing processes.
• Undertake additional marketing efforts and modeling projects as required or assigned.
• Collaborate with Accounting, Capital Raising, and Asset Management to prepare accurate and timely monthly and quarterly reporting, compliance materials, and other deliverables for financing providers and investors.
• Maintain levered real estate credit vehicle liquidity models and manage daily cash requirements, including capital calls, subscription line draws and repayments, loan funding needs, paydowns, and repurchase facility advances.
• Analyze financing proposals and existing facilities, including pricing, advance rates, leverage, collateral, covenants, margin requirements, liquidity impact, and downside scenarios; summarize key findings and recommendations for senior management.
• Prepare ad hoc models, analyses, presentations, and recommendations for the Capital Markets team and senior management.

Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Finance, Business. Structured credit or real estate experience is a plus.
• 1-3 years of relevant experience, preferably in credit or private equity funds, financial services, a finance-related function.
• Proficient in advanced Excel formulas and financial modeling. Must be able to create complex, properly formatted, multi-tab models using advanced Excel formulas.  Discounted cash flow models, carried interest calculations, etc.  VBA or other coding experience a plus.
• Self-starter, team-oriented, detail-oriented, and proven ability to perform in high-expectation environment.
• Exceptional oral and written communication and presentation skills.
